      Hello, people!

      This week we started with the writing section. We revised the main features of this section and started working with part 1. Here I left part of the file we worked with in class [IELTS - Writing Part 1]. The idea is that you analize the samples given and mark all the mistakes you find in them. Then, rewrite the exams (or just one of them) correcting the mistakes you noticed (pay special attention to grammar and vocabulary). FInally, you should write your own version for the same exercise. I left a TASK for you to upload what you did (in any format you want to, it can be a photo, too). If you don't want to upload it, we can check it next class.

      Let me know if I can help you with anything!

    • Helloo!!

      This week we wrote some short practice essays for Task 1 of the Writing Section. We didn't have time to check the sample for a Band 8.5, so here I uploaded it as promised. For this week I left some practice essays you can do and a task for you to upload it if you want.

      See you in class!

    • Hello, people!

      This week we worked with Task 2 of the Writing section. We saw a few examples and we practiced writing for one of the prompts. Since this coming Friday is a holiday, I uploaded extra homework to make up for the los time.

      Basically, this week you have to:

      1. write another Task 2 essay, this would be the second prompt in the file.
      2. read the samples included for both propmts and identify the use (or lack of use) of connectors. Mark any salient aspect of this that you consider relevant.
      3. play the connectors games I attatched below this announcement to work a bit more on their meaning and use.

      That's it! See you in 2 weeks!

      Hello!!

      This week we revised some tips for Writing Task 2 and we quickly revised the main types of questions and how to organize the information for each one. We also practiced notetaking and outlining before we began writing.

      This week's virtual homework will deal with both aspects. In the PDF I have atatched below, you will find a series of activities through which you will:

      1. analyze the structure of an essay;
      2.  identify the different types of questions;
      3.  generate ideas in an organized fashion;
      4. analyze some model answers for each type of question.

      The idea is that you complete the activities and we revise them first thing next Friday.

      Apart from that, as per usual, I have attatched the Writing Task you worked with in class, the presentation I showed you in class and an extra prompt for you to write at home and bring for next Friday (do only Task 2)

      If you have any questions, let me know!

      Hello!!

      This week we went over some tips on how to write Task 1 more effectively. I have left below the Canva Presentation we used in class, which has some extra practice for you to do at home. I advice that you do those instrad of the one I gave you in class. The latter one is rather confusing and hard to interpret.

      Let me know if you have any questions! See you nexxt Friday for some Speaking practice!
